The Educational Kit
This kit aims to support teachers in a process of taking into account and valuing the languages and cultures of their students. Four sessions have been designed to help teachers get their groups to evolve their representations of the languages around them in order to create their language biographies.
“A privileged tool for a didactics of multilingualism, the language biography designates […] any language production of the learner allowing him/her, on the one hand, to value the learning he/she has achieved in the field of languages and cultures in contact with others, and on the other hand, to develop his/her plurilingual, pluricultural repertoire” (Molinié, 2006, p. 9).
The four sessions are presented in detail in this kit, at the end of which the teacher will find in the appendix the necessary materials to set them up (maps, student sheets and language biographies).
These four sessions are above all a proposal and can be adapted by the teacher according to the context, the students, the time available and the objectives pursued. Thus, depending on the age of the students, some activities can be carried out only orally or digitally, with the whole class or in small groups. It is not necessary to carry out all of them if some do not seem suitable for you.
